Q: I cannot get my phone to backup on iCloud

I am trying to backup my iPhone 5 using iCloud. When I go to Settings/iCloud, there is no backup and storage option. Sorry I am a little behind on technology, but what am I doing wrong? Is there something else that needs to be enabled?

You go to Settings>iCloud and you don't see Storage & Backup listed at the bottom?

no, after the find my phone application there is the 3 line remark on what the find my phone option does, and underneath that is the red delete my account button, there is nothing else

Is this a work phone? If so, your IT department may have pushed a security profile to your phone preventing you from backing up to iCloud. If it isn't, try connecting your phone to iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and select Back Up to iCloud, then sync your phone.

Yep, I am a fool haha. I use it for work as well as personal. The IT settings probably won't allow me to back it up on iCloud because company information is on my phone as well...it all makes sense now. Haha I am a goof. I guess I will just have to use iTunes

Many companies don't. You would have to check with your IT department to find out for sure.
