MacBook to iPad

I'm trying to Facetime using my Macbook pro/facetime application to my fiance's iPad. When I call him, he just gets a message saying "connecting" but nothing happens. We are both using Wifi.

(P.S. We have no issues with Facetime when he uses his iPad to call my iPhone.)

What's wrong?
