No it is not you can..

-Sign in to icloud.com/find on a Mac or PC, or use the Find My iPhone app on another iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

-Find your device. Open Find My iPhone, and select a device to view its location on a map. If the device is nearby, you can have it play a sound to help you or someone nearby find it.

-Turn on Lost Mode. Using Lost Mode, you can remotely lock your device with a passcode, display a custom message with your phone number on your missing device's Lock screen, and keep track of your device's location. If you added credit or debit cards to Apple Pay, the ability to make payments using Apple Pay on the device will be suspended when you put your device in Lost Mode.

Just called verizon about hte Iphone 6s and the new programs, they said if I get the iPhone from Apple (buy, or the new lease / installment / upgrade plans) , then I can bring it in to verizon, switch it out for my current phone onto my existing plan, and use the $8/month insurance I have already on the new iPhone 6s, it will just got up $1/month since the new iPhone is more expensive...That way it covers lost and stolen phones, which Applecare + does not. My insurance is trhoguh verizon, from Asurion. Not sure if you can buy it separately or not (ie without verizon from Asurion). I will probably just buy the phone straight up from Verizon so i'm not paying the extra for apple care +, and then use the insurance from verizon, sell it after a year to a year and a half, and do that again for the next iphone. And I'll be off contract from verizon going to month to month. Gucci.
