Help with Apple Earpods

I recently bought an iPhone 5 along it came the new EarPods. YAY.

After 2-3 weeks of use, the right earbud did not work anymore, but the remote and mic were working perfectly fine. The left earbud is also working fine. I have tried the earpods with my laptop and an iPod Touch and find that the right earbud does not work at all (there is no sound coming out). The weird thing is that the remote and mic which are connected to the same wire as the right earbud is working fin
