Incorrect Date Created on USB Flash Disk files

Incorrect Dated created of: 01/01/1904 appears on all files that I transfer onto my USB flash disks. This wrecks havoc when comparing creation dates over three computers.

Does anyone know of a fix or perhaps a better forum to list this in?

Using MAc OSX10.6 on an IMAC Power PC and no name brand USB flash Disks.

If all the computers you are using the USB disk with are Macs, drag anything on the flash drive that you want to keep onto your hard disk, and then use the Disk Utility in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder to format the drive into one of the Mac OS Extended formats; if you will be using the drive with Mac OS 9, additional instructions are required.

If you will be using the drive with a PC but don't need to access those files from a PC, use the Disk Utility to create a blank disk image in one of the Mac formats, and place the files onto the disk image. Drag the disk image to the USB drive.
