Draw tempo freehand

I'm trying to draw tempos freehand in Logic and I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

I know how to add a node and then adjust the curve of the automation between nodes, but it is not allowing me to simply draw the tempo line that I wish to have. I've searched the manual to no avail. Is there perhaps a keyboard combination that I have to hold down to draw the tempo?

I can post a video of drawing a tempo in other music software that I use in case this doesn't make sense.

20 year+ music software user, but still pretty new to Logic.
