Mac mini and old iBook

My dad (aged 84) has got used to using an old iBook. Recently, it started quitting any time he went on line. An Apple certified store said it is too old to fix. Could we connect a new Mac mini to the iBook, getting around the problem while keeping the same interface for him?

Some of the older iBooks and PowerBooks are limited to 802.11b wireless connection. Some newer routers have only 802.11 g/n connectivity.

I have an original 1999 iBook with airport card installed that would not connect to a new Airport base station. I solved this by using a 802.11g/b USB adapter.

Here is a link to the device. Note it requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
