Is there a way to zip pictures in Aperture?

I have read about zipping files in finder and there seems to be limitation of two at a time. I would like to be able to zip a whole album of 20 pics or so.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Aperture 3.4.3

I have no problem to zip 30 or more at a time in the Finder - select the images, then ctrl-click them, and from the pop-up menu select "compress 30 items".

That should work.

Aperture does not export zipped archives, afaik. You will have to export your album to a folder on your disk and then zip the folder.

Per Leonie's suggestion, you'd zip the entire folder, not the individual images within.

But, if you must select multiple images, make sure you've switched to a list or column view. You should see that option near the top of most Finder windows. Once you've switched to a list-type view, shift-select should work to select multiple images.

You could either select one of the images in the folder, then press the key combination ⌘A to select all,

or simply select the folder and then compress the folder as described above.

Will I be able to send the zipped files in one email?

That will depend on the size of the compressed file - see Aye Es Oh's post. Zipping images does not compress them much. Look at the size of the zipped files; if it is much larger than 3 MB the recipient of the mail will not be happy.

If you want to compress the images to share them by mail from Aperture, you could use Aperture's Mail preferences in the "Export" panel to set the size of the mailed images to small. Then you should be able to mail 20 images at once.
