Can I use a Apple 23'' inch HD display for a Plastion 3 ? ( I have tried it with a HDMI adapter from the display into the playstation , it didn't work the light on the display was flashing. Normally it is plugged into the Mac mini but it doesn't work with the playstation 3

If the Cinema Display is working correctly with a Mac mini, then the problem would not seem to be with the display but rather in the adapter you're using or the PlayStation. You really should take this up in a PlayStation-oriented site, then. You'll be more likely to get help there, since this does not appear to be an Apple issue.
