iMac C2D 1.83 (A1195) screen compatibility?

I have a iMac C2D 1.83 (A1195) with a bad screen... a really bad screen with bad pixels and lines galore. My question is, is there any other machine out there that would have a compatible screen with my machine? I've looked arount the web for an A1195 replacement screen and they are priced ridiculously high, so high that's better to just throw the machine away if I can't find one for $100 or less. I've seen these for sell online as high as $1000 (the lowest price I've seen is $250). I don't understand this, it makes no sense.

Is there maybe a compatible Macbook out there from the 2006-2007 timeline that has a compatible screen? It looks like there would be something shared in the old Apple parts bin that would be cross-compatible.

Anyway, any ideas and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.
