midi note C4 not playing in Logic Pro

Ok, I already know this sounds crazy right off the bat, but its true, When I play the key "C4" on my midi keyboard (Korg M1), it shows up in midi monitor and I can see it passing through my midi interface into Logic Pro and I see the midi display in the transport register it, the correct note and velocity but somehow it doesn't get to the instrument. In this case Kontakt 4 using the New York Grand Piano. For that matter, it doesn't matter which plugin or instrument I use, even if its an Apple instrument like ES2. I'm so curious what is going on here. I can load up Kontakt stand alone and it plays fine. I can load any instrument in any other sequencer and it plays fine. I've tried it in Live and Studio One.

Does anyone have any clues whatsoever why this is happening?

thanks,

Greg
