Q: New iPod question

I just bought a new iPod for my mom for Christmas and I would really like to download a song onto it before I give it to her.

She has an iTunes account so I could register it with her iTunes account but would it notify her or something in an e-mail about her new iPod?

Yes, if you set it up with her account she will get an email saying thanks. Also if you purchase something with her account. she will get an email receipt for the purchase.

I would give it to here unactivated/set up. Let her/help here set it up. You can also gift a song to here from your amount. She gets an email for that so do it right before she gets the iPod. See:
