Installation of EndNote Plug In

Help! I'm trying to update Pages to incorporate EndNote. I follow the instructions for the download and install but it makes no difference to Pages at all. Restarting my Mac does not help either. All software updates for the Mac have been downloaded. The EndNote plug in download just sits on my desktop laughing at me!!! Please help!!
