Can't update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2

Spent an hour on the phone with AppleCare regarding this today. They don't seem aware of the issue. No fix so far....

Just bought a new Mac Mini - shipped with 10.8.1, will not upgrade to 10.8.2.

App store will not show the OSX update as available.

Returned the Mac Mini, same problem with the new machine.

Apple seems to be clueless at this point.

Any suggestions?

Exactly the same problem for me. Spent an hour on the phone to Support. Re-installed the OS three times, wiped it twice. Now my case has been escalated...

Hi everyone, yesterday I bought a new iMac mini. Same problem here - cannot update to 10.8.2. Thought it was a hdd problem, before i found this blog here...

I got the same issue. Bought new Mac Mini yesterday. Can't update to Mac OS X 10.8.2.

this update is not for the 2012 late macs.. we must have a special combo update for our "custom" build. this one you postet is for older macs

Same issue here. Brand new MacBook Pro 13" Retina shipped with 10.8.1. None of these worked:

- 10.8.2 doesnt display in the apps store

- Fix permissions

- Combo update wont install says there is a error with the volume

- reload Mountain from recovery partition on top of existin installation

- wiped partition and reload from revcovery

During this whole saga I also tried booting from a usb installer of ML. The mac regonized the usb and when it tried to boot from USB it failed. The usb drive is good as it works in every other mac in my house.

And same here too. Nothing seems to fix the issue on my new 13" Macbook Pro that I purchased yesterday.

Same issue here. Brand new Mac mini (2.3 GHz Intel Core i7), Version 10.8.1, Build 12B2080. Couldn't update to 10.8.2.

Same issue here - brand new Mac Mini came with 10.8.1 and won't update via the App Store to 10.8.2 and the combo download from the support site refuses to install.

Rather frustrating since Aperture won't install on 10.8.1 and I mainly bought the mini to edit my photos...

Yes, it is, but per the original post, it will not install.

I have a new Mac Mini and the update for 10.8.2 does not appear. I tried the direct link and that won't install.

It is very frustrating as I cannot install any applications that require 10.8.2 such as iPhoto.

I've also tried correcting disk permissions, but that made no difference. Somebody mentioned it might be a Mac Mini specific issue, and that the update is not available, however that seems very strange with it being so long after the update was released.
