I purchased the new iPad a few weeks ago and I do like it but am disappointed I can't play the zynga games on it like FarmVille 2, why not?

Have you checked the App Store to see the numerous Zynga offerings there? Such as:

You need flash player most likely. Adobe has dropped flash on all "mobile" devices.
Download a web browser with flash from the app store. Puffin, skyfire, photon etc.. Try Puffin lite. Its free and gives you 15 minutes of flash. See if it works for you before spending 2.99$
