I have inherited an iMac from a friend who inherited it from another firend. The first person cannot be reached for the Administrative password. How can I reset this password?

You can call Apple and request a replacement set if they still have them. They will charge you a nominal fee for shipping and handling.

You must give them the computer serial number for then to see if they have the proper disk for that specific iMac.
The older the Mac, the less likely you are to find repalcement disks from Apple.
This is an old discussion so might not help Nbwalton, but it might help someone else. If you can't get the disk from Apple (preferred because you'll know it's the right one), you might be able to get one from a local Apple users' group for free or purchase one on eBay.
