I can't restore an IOS device from a Cloud backup.

...even though it shows the most recent backup once I'm in my device if I set it up as a new one instead. After I go into Settings and the iCloud, it shows my devices under Manage Storage and the latest back up. Bottom line is: I can back up my contacts, but the apps are all gone. It's happened on my iPhone 4 and my iPad on different occasions. So frustrating........can anyone help me? I'm scared to continue using this thing because it doesn't work!

Did you try to restore to your iCloud backup? If so, what happened when you tried?

Yes, that was the point. I was trying to restore from a backup I performed this morning and it wouldn't give me the option of that backup date. Wouldn't give me any dates in fact.

I updated the iPad to the latest IOS and then re-set it again to see if that would help and it did! It gave me the option of my latest iCloud update and showed back ups from my other devises too. Don't know why that worked but it did. Problem solved!
