Is the trackpad affected by the cold?

I had my Mac out in the cold (2º) for an hour yesterday and today I noticed that the trackpad wasn't working as well as it did before. I have to press much harder for the click to register on the screen. Is it possible that the pad was damaged by the cold, or is it a temporary state that will pass?

Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I can pretty much assure your that a one-hour cold snap wouldn't have affected your Trackpad.
