I attempted to download Java for Mountain Lion and it had no positive effect. ~Marlin

I attempted to download the Java enabler for Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2) and it had absolutely no effect. How should I proceed?

Open Java Preferences.app in the Utilities folder. It will tell you what version you have, allow you to download it if not present, and allow you to enable it.
