I am having difficulties upgrading osx 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 even after downloading the dmg files, auto update isn't finding the update either....can anyone assist please?

Try a Permissions Repair using Disc Utility...
Verify or Repair Disk Permissions

Then Restart your Computer and try again to Install the Update...

Hmmm - I thought you have an MBP with retina display (that's what shows in your profile).
As for the non-working link: do you mean you downloaded it and it won't install or you can't click on the link?

Hi, yes thats correct I do have the MBP 13" retina, the link takes me to a blank page with a message "We can't find the article you're looking for"....its a mystery!! 🙂

Wait until Apple launches the update again. Your computer needs it to update to 10.8.2 because it uses a special Mac OS X version
Well, that's really odd - I wonder why they deactivated it. I recently actually got that update on my 2012 MBP. In that case and because you are covered by warranty, why not call Apple and ask them where the download is.
