I have a Macbook pro 17 A1261 with ati 1600, installed on 10.5.8 The computer boots only on safe boot. In regular bout stop with a blue screen. I used Disk warrior, applejack, and i update with a 10.5.8. After few minutes of use I sa a scale ? 10 line on my cursor and It's the sign the n L will not able to reboot in full. I tesed laready Graphic unit, the HD is new (WD 7200, 500G)...

I have a MBP 17,a1261, 4G ram, 2008 feb, Ati 1600 256meg. Since one week I try to adress a boot problem, the 10.5 old installation on my hd boot only safe boot.
I try to reinstall OS 10.5 or 10.6 or 10.7 and after few minutes booting stop on a gray screen or a blue screen for 10.5. I tested memories. I used a external CD reader with FW.
Thank you ! It's done, no effect. The issue seems to be link to hardware or drivers. I had problem with my old 10.5 installation and after I could not boot from DVD installer 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7. In fact the booting process stopped and gray screen appeared. I installed 10.6 target mode with a other MBP in. It had been working on standard boot few minutes but after I couldn't used Youtube for example and with Macromedia test, Shockwave didn't test on. The cursor has a ghost scale ( tens lines of 1/4 inches) in safeboot and standard boot.
