itunes quite recognizing my ipod after latest software update

since last update all I get on my ipod touch screen is connect to itunes but itunes will no longer recognize my ipod I cant access anything on ipod

iPod touch, iOS 6

or

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

If a PC I would start with:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

or

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

You need iTunes version 10.7
