Can I get notification of a new season in iTunes?

So this idea seems so obvious (especially for a service with a "Genius") that I'm sure I've missed something somewhere and would be grateful for a pointer.

I've become a complete AppleTV consumer. We don't have cabel TV anymore. We buy everything. But one of the most annoything things about this is that it is so hard to discover new seasons for the shows we watch. The interface to AppleTV is awful. And while I get emails from iTunes recommending stuff for me, I have never gotten email telling me there's a new season for a show I have purchased.

Is there really no way for iTunes to notify me when there is a new season with out forcing me to root around in their (ok, let's face it: awful) interface?
