iPhone stopped syncing with iCal on MAC

All was well until two days ago. Using iPhone 4 IOS 5 and Snow Leopard on Macbook Pro. iCal stoped syncing from iPhone to Mac, but still syncing from Mac to iPhone. Have looked at all possible forums, tried what was suggested, to no avail. Can anybody help?
