Hi,
I have an iMac (2011 vintage) running OS X 10.6.8.
I would normally put it in sleep mode at night, rather than shutting it off. However, lately, it has been coming out of sleep mode on its own. (Therefore, I have been shutting it off, rather than using the sleep mode.) Can anyone tell me what's up and how to make it work properly again?

There are a number of things that can cause this.
Go to system preferences>energy saver, make sure wake for networks is not checked, check print/fax that there is no jobs on hold ,if there are delete them. Check in accounts> login items, get rid of those, all these are in system prefs.
Bluetooth devices can wake it.

"Wake for network access" was checked, so I have unchecked it.
There are no print jobs on hold.
There is nothing checked in "Login Items".
I'll also check the more detailed list you referred to.
I'll see if that takes care of it.
