Is it? Should I spend 25 dollars on it or not ? My MacBook works brilliant, so there is no problems 🙂
Its more vanity than anything else, or, I like that I can send iMessages form my MacBook to my friends iPads and iPhones 🙂
Check if you need Mountain Lion features > http://www.apple.com/osx If you want to upgrade, make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion works properly on my iMac
First, it's only $19.99 plus tax. Second, Lion is gone. So upgrading the Mountain Lion makes sense unless you have software that will not work under Mountain Lion.
But it's your decision.

See if your programs are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com You can make a Time Machine backup or clone the drive with Carbon Copy Cloner > http://www.bombich.com To make a Time Machine backup, open System Preferences > Time Machine > Select Disk, select the external drive you want to save your backup and wait until it completes
I cant find any external drive.
Connect an external disk. If you haven't got one, buy one to make a backup
