can ipads be locked like iphones if lost or stolen ??

i was about to buy a ipad of a mate tonight BUT it had a vodaphone contract sim in it my mate hasnt the best track record for paying all things to the end of his contracts so if i buy it and he DO NOT keep paying his contract can vodaphone close the ipad down ?????

    No, Vodaphone can block that particular IMEI from connecting to their network. But they cannot prevent someone from using the iPad itself. Vodaphone's data plan for the iPad, though, is to the best of my knowledge month-to-month, so there would have been no contract for your mate to have to pay on unless he was using the SIM from an iPhone plan.
