When you take photos, is there a purple flare? I've heard a lot of complaints about this.

I want to buy the new iPhone 5, but I've heard that when you take a photo in the outside, it appears a purple flare in the image. Is it a really big issue? Do you reccomend me to buy it? Or should I wait to the next phone?

The effect exists, but is probably overblown.

It is simply poor photographic technique to shoot into the sun, unless you are seeking to achieve an artistic effect by doing so. The light source should ideally be behind the photographer, or at least off to the side.


The iPhone is not the only phone susceptible to the problem:
