Not trying to start any argument here, but if you would have checked the requirements for using an iPad with iTunes on a computer, you would have seen that Windows 8 is not supported.

  • Apple ID (required for some features)
  • Internet access6
  • Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:

    • Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
    • PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
    • Download iTunes at www.itunes.com/download

I have Windows 8 and am running itunes 10.7 just fne on it. It recognizes my iPad 2 just fine. I'll have to try with the new Mini once it arrives.

And Apple's website clearly states iTunes is compatile with Windows 8

User uploaded fileiTunes for Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

You are missing the point.

I didn't say that iTunes is not supported on the PC running Windows 8. I did not say that users are not having some success with an iPad and iTunes if they are running Windows 8.

I am saying that using an iPad with iTunes on a PC running Windows 8 is not officially supported by Apple in the iPad technical specifications.

Read the technical specs here.

You canot install Windows 8 on an iPad. You can install iTunes on a Windows 8 computer, but at the time this was posted, support for Windows 8 was non existant, so iPads and iPhones would not be detected in certain circumstances. Some cases like mine had no issues. My iPad was detected fine and I could sync perfectly fine. but other's could not get the devices to be picked up.

This in no way implies you can install Windows 8 on an iPad. I'm not sure if "fromsouth" was trying to be funny, or he missed the point entirely.
