Need to upgrade my computer software and lost admin. password (NO disc install)

My administrator password was changed, I can not access for changes that need this password because I don't have the disc to install the software again and I also wanna upgrade the current Mac OS X 10.5.8 with 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, it's got 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. What can I do or what do I need to buy from apple on line?. My computer keeps running out of space or applications stop running constantly.

Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... give the new User a different name than an existing one.
