[iPod Touch] Not Connecting to iTunes.

Please help, I just got my iPod Touch 4th Gen back from Apple [Because of White Screen] and today, I just bought a brand new USB Adapter, because the old one didn't work. Anyway, I plugged in my iPod Touch, and it came up; 'USB Device Not Recongnised' I tried the other port, and came up to the same message again. I tried uninstalling the ports, then reinstalling them by a restart [By Devmgmt.msc search in the task bar] but it keeps coming up with the message, please help!?

I've also forgotten my Passcode and also wondering if it is possible to reset it without restoring, because I can't do that. 😟

See:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

I would start with

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

or

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Also try:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I got my USB to connect to my laptop, plugged it in then it came up with 'iTunes has dectected iPod in Recovery Mode' Blah blah blah, I tried restoring it, then it came up with this; iPod Software Update Server could not be contacted' I tried my network settings and they were all fine, and my Internet is fine. Please help.

If my parents find out they'll kill me!
