my apple tv software 5.1 is 720p not 1080p 'as advertised'

I have loaded version 5.1 it is showing resolution as 720p however it is connected to a 1080p HD tv via a HDMI lead.

What is missing?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Try going into settings and changing the video resolution to 1080p.

I have just read the answer elsewhere.....my apple tv2 max's at 720p....simple when you know.

What generation Apple TV do you have? 1080p output is only available with the 3rd generation Apple TV. The 2nd generation Apple TV only support 720p. Hope that helps.
