Many months ago, I took keynote off of the Mac; now, I have a reason to use it but it won't work (after I reinstalled it using the DVD that came with the laptop).
Will someone please help me out?
It gives an error message, saying, "Keynote cannot be opened because of a problem."
Keynote from iWork 09-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
try this:
delete Keynote in Applications folder
delete this file: sytem hard drive > users > Home > Library > preferences > com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
empty the trash
reinstall from the install disc
try this:
delete Keynote in Applications folder
delete this file: sytem hard drive > users > Home > Library > preferences > com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
empty the trash
reinstall from the install disc
It didn't work - got anything else? I will try to restart and come back.
shutdown the Mac
restart with shift key depressed, the Mac will run a diagnostic test
once booted run Disc First Aid:
applications > utility > disc utility > First Aid; click on your start up disc and repair disc permissions
I am sorry to report that this did not solve the problem; I look forward to any more help/counsel you might have to offer me.
My OSX software update kept saying my software was up to date, but I doubted it.
I went to get update 9.0.1, but it said "You have a newer version already installed."
I tried to find a newer one.
I downloaded 9.1 and installed.
Finally, it works.
