last time I tried updating from ios5 to 6, i had to reset my phone cause it got stcuk in recovery mode. Now I want to back up my phone befor I install ios6.xx, but my iphone is not recognized by Windows 7. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming the standard links provided didn't help.
My iphone id stuck with the picture of a usb cable connecting to the itunes icon.
I have tried any combination of holding the home button and/or the sleep button for 10, 20 , 30 , 40 60 sec.
But it's still stuck

Your phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. If iTunes is not detecting it, try going through the troubleshooting steps in item #5 at the bottom of this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538, under "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode".
