Apple has not announced when or if unlocked iphone 5 will be sold in the U.S at all.

I don't see any unlocked phone on the web site.

If you're outside the USA you can't buy one where without coming here and getting it. Even then it is not a good idea because the warranty is only good in the USA.

Including taxes, I paid $1006 for my 64GB iPhone 5 from Apple.ca which sells UNLOCKED only.
