2.5" Hybrid Drives (alternatives to Seagate)

Hi there,

I am looking to upgrade my 13" 2009 MacBook Pro drive. SSDs are too expensive and too small and HHDs too slow, so Hybrid Drives seem ideal.

I have heard bad things a Seagate's hybrid drives but they're the only ones I can find. I have heard Toshiba make good drives but can't find their hybrid drive for purchase. If anyone can improve the Seagate hybrid drives please let me know.

Key info...

• I am looking to get one this year (2012).
• The drive must be much faster that 2.5" 250GB 5400rpm stock HHD
• Should be 750GB or larger
• I want to keep my optical drive
