osstatus error 2

ok I have a externail hard drive Seagate home. I would to back up to it by wifi. In time machine when I seclect the hard drive (seagate ) and I put my name and password it connecting then an error comes up and say osstatus error 2 . Now where do i get this code from I be very where on you site. So can you help me. Am I stuffing uo something that I have done. Thank you Francis

This is a user to user forum. Thus you have no direct contact to Apple here. Seagate may have its own error code. That said, some Apple Airport Extreme base stations allow you to attach external hard drives to share wirelessly:

http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/features/harddrivesharing.html Only Apple's Time Capsule is definitely compatible with direct wireless hard drive backup unless stated by the manufacturer that it is known to be compatible with Apple's wireless.
