transfer photos from time capsule to mac

I have a new MacBook Air. I used migration assistant to set up my new MacBook Air from my old MacBook Air (via Time Machine backup on Time Capsule). All my photos are stored on my MacBook Pro and on my Time Capsule (via Time Machine). I would like to transfer my photos to my new MacBook Air. How can I do this? Shall I use an external hard drive to do this or can I use migration assistant just for the photos? I would like to transfer the Albums as well so i do not need to reformat my photo library. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

If it's an iPhoto Library, you can simply copy it over to the MBA, then open it by double-clicking it in the Finder, or holding Alt when launching iPhoto.

If it's a manually organized set of folders and files, you can also copy it over, or drag & drop it into iPhoto. Try with single subfolders first, they should pop up as Events in iPhoto.
