How do i get my computer to connect to facetime ?

I type my correct apple id and password and it displays in red 'could not sign in please check your network connection and try again' i have tried about 20 times

also tried restarting computer shutting it down turning off my internet connection and on again i can connect to interect perfectly fiine just not facetime ?? HELP
