as of today, iMessage hasnt worked.. is is down?

As of today iMessage hasnt worked.. a bunch of my friends are having the same problem.. do any of you know the cause or a sloution? 🙂

all it says is that is waiting for activation. when i type my apple id, it says it is incorrect.
