I would like to FaceTime with my 4 kids on their iPads and they do not have Apple ID's or email addresses. Can we all use the same email and sort of conference call?

There is no conference call feature when using Facetime. It is one on one. You'd need to assign each of the four devices, their own individual e-mail address. (Apple devices that are cellphone capable can use their telephone numbers as their calling ID, even though communications can be over wifi networks)
