German iPhone 5 activation issue

Hi everyone!

We've got a sticky situation here and we need an advice because we don't know what to do and how to act.

We were on a trip to Germany and stayed at my friend's brother's place in Munich. There are no iPhones on sale in our region yet so we decided to buy a couple instead of waiting for Christmas.

On 11/15/2012 I personally pre-ordered via Apple.com/de/ two white iPhones 32GB without any lock to any carrier (Sim-free, neverlock) to an Apple Store (Germany, Munich, Rosenstrasse, 1). An availability confirmation from the store was sent to my friend's email.

The next day, on 11/16/2012 we bought two iPhones in that Apple Store (Germany, Munich, Rosenstrasse, 1) with two different credit cards and in two separate reciepts. We were in a hurry, so we didn't activate the phones and check anything out - just named our order, got the phones and left the store.

On Sunday (11/18/2012) we left back to Russia and upon arrival tried to activate the phones here.

At this moment the problem came out: it appeared that at least one of the phones is locked to a carrier (seems to me that it's T-Mobile) despite there was no SIM-card inside the box and we paid the full price - 789 Euro per phone.

Moreover, at the moment we started to check everything out it appeared that my iphone's serial number and IMEI differ from the serial and IMEI in a reciept.

It looks like the seller mixed up the boxes and accidently gave us the wrong one, but it doesn't feel any better to me at the moment.

I don't know what to do because it would be a very big problem to go to Germany to change the device directly in the shop, and pretty expensive though.

Is there any way to solve my problem distantly?
