Q: ipod clickwheel color is misrecognized by itunes as my iPhoone 4s

when I connect my ipod to my MBP, iTunes misrecognizes it as iPhione 4S.  It then locks up at Backup (sequence 2 of 7).  What do I need to do to correct this issue?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), iPad3, iPhone 4s

    Does your iPod have the same name as your iPhone 4S under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes?  If so, give it a unique name by double clicking its current name under Devices and typing a new one.

     

    Otherwise, reboot the Mac and the iPod and reconnect them.
