Multiple Users

Does ML Server allow multiple users to be logged in on a client computer? I've setup profile manager to allow fast user switching on the client computers, but after logging in with one network user, if i go to the login window and try to login as somone else, first no names show up and you have to login as other, and second I get an error saying their account can't be logged in,

10.4 10.5 10.6 10.7 10.8 server all allow multiple user login

Did you use PM or wgm or server app to configure users

How does your working user compare to the none working user

Check your user groups or computer groups are not preventing the user account from being created on the client machine

Check server logs they may show why the account "can't be logged in"

I think that's a different problem?

My problem is that from client machines fast user switching doesn't work period. Once one network user is logged in, no one else can login on that computer unless that first user logs out. Very annoying b/c it means that staff can't share computers during the day without logging out, which costs precious time.

I do not belive you can fast user switching for network users for the reason indicated here : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2502677 Despite referring to the older OS version the AFP issue is the same.

This one makes the same point. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1048613

I have tried this with each major update and found the same result you did. It seems to be a limitation of AFP.

I believe you can use it for local users which exist on the client machine.
