Meeting Request Updates?

I can respond and save a meeting request sent from someone's MS Exchange account to my Yahoo email and save it on my iCloud home calendar so that it syncs with my iPhone and iPad and stays off my corp Exchange account. If someone sends me an update to a meeting request I previously accepted why don't those updates get reflected in the updated meeting request? Meeting times get changed or even canceled, why don't those updates take effect on both my iPad and iPhone?
