When I updated the phone at home to my backup saved on my computer, the phone was named iPhone 4S
How do I change the name of my new device to iPhone 5?

Settings -> General --> About -> Name

Go to the summary page, double-click on the old phone name and you're able to type in changes. Ignore Templeton Peck's response.

Why would you suggest the OP ignore the steps I provided given the fact following those steps will accomplish exactly what the OP was looking to do?
