I'm trying to publish my ical, I'm being given only two options to publish to Mobileme or A Private Server, when I click on Private Server, it asks for url, login and password. I am stuck, where do I get that information?

By 'private server' they mean a CalDAV server which they expect to be running yourself, or possibly a third-party server specifically figured to handle CalDAV - these are rare. There are a couple of services claiming to be able to do this but reports suggest that they don't work well. (Ordinary website servers won't work.)

To be honest, publishing your calendar as a web page is now likely to be difficult. You would find it easier to share the calendar publicly - viewing this does not require iCloud membership but does require the recipient to view it in a CalDav client - iCal itself is one, and Google calendar is another.
