remote app not connecting itunes library

got the remote app installed on the Iphone 5, got it to connect to itunes and entered the pin, but still i cannot connect to my libary and access its contents.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

I had the same problem

a terminal command that wiped all of the firewall settings worked for me using home sharing.

sudo /sbin/ipfw -f flush
