Can I create a chronological X axis without all the data?

I want to make a graph that would show the evolution of a particular data over time. The thing is that I don't have the quantities for all the dates over the year. I only took some data once in a while. My X axis is time. But the distance between every point on the chart is not proportional. It doesn't show the true evolution over time. It's like if there is the same timelength between january 1st and january 2nd, than there is between january 2nd and july 7th.

Hi Mederick,

All charts available in Numbers except one are Category charts. These have a single value axis, usually the Y axis, and a Category axis. Items on the category axis are uniformly spaced.

The single exception is the Scatter chart, which has two value axes.

For a Scatter chart, the X and Y data columns must both be recorded in 'regular' columns of the table, not 'header' columns.

Here's an example using a familiar series of values with two weekly 'readings' omitted from the data.
