My iPhone 4 is stuck on the progress bar/connect to iTunes, been trying to restore it for about 3 hours, tried everything and nothing is working?

I've updated iTunes, checked all the network etc connections through iTunes and they are all fine. I've restarted my laptop twice, I'm an administrator on it, I've done the msconfig thing. It wasn't jailbroken or anything like that. It's been stuck at the same point on a progress bar for ages - before that, the progress bar completed fully twice, and still came up with the 'connect to iTunes' logo afterwards. I am at the end of my tether, and I need to fix this as soon as I can. Please, is there anything else I can try?
